Festive Wotnots To One & All! (December 2019) I'd like to take a moment to thank you for visiting my page, buying my books and most of all - leaving a review to help others choose one of mine to read. I hope you all have a peaceful and stress-free Christmas and New Year. It's been a busy year for me. I've released The Gaia Solution, book #3 in The Gaia Collection ~ The Interspecies Poker Tournament, humorous fantasy novella ~ Ye Olde Magick Shoppe, humorous fantasy short story ~ Flashing Here & There, a collection of flash fiction ~ Haunted, the Sparkly Badger's Halloween Anthology. Did you know that you can gift ebooks via Amazon? So if you've enjoyed reading one of my books, why not buy a copy for your friends and family. Books are great stocking fillers and reading makes you happy, fact! End of an Era (November 2019) The Gaia Solution, book #3 in The Gaia Collection, is now available at all book retailers and is the final book in the series. A lot of emotion has been poured into this series so it's almost bittersweet now that we've come to the end. I am working on a new book in a brand new series for NaNoWriMo 2019 but have yet to decide on a working title. The main character is called Kat and she's a temp for a rather unusual temping agency. New Award, New Cover & New Glasses (Sept 2019) The Rose Thief won the 2019 Raven Award for Best Sci-fi & Fantasy Book - huzzah! Thank you all so much for taking the time to vote. Don't forget The Rose Thief has gone wide which means you can now buy your copy from your preferred retailer whether that's Waterstones here in the UK, Barnes and Noble in America or digitally via Apple Books or Kobo. I have new cover artwork for Tales from Suburbia. I never quite liked the original cover and I think this new design really connects to the stories on the inside. I have new glasses! Extremely important news and a photo went out in my newsletter. Keep up to date with all my writerly news and make sure you're signed up to my virtual slice of cake and author newsletter. I guarantee you'll enjoy it. Reveals and Revisions in August (2019) I am thrilled to share the new poetry covers for the Little Book Series - they look amazing! I'm working on changing over the covers on Amazon and they will be available to buy soon. The Rose Thief has gone wide which means you can now buy your copy from your preferred retailer whether that's Waterstones here in the UK, Barnes and Noble in America or digitally via Apple Books or Kobo. The new cover for The Gaia Solution, book three in The Gaia Collection, has been revealed and editing continues with a hopeful release towards the end of the year. Keep checking back for your sneak peek. Summer Dreaming (June and July 2019) There is so much exciting stuff coming up! I will be releasing a new book of flash fiction in July called Flashing Here & There so keep your eyes peeled for that. My author newsletter will be revealing the cover for The Gaia Solution, book three in The Gaia Collection so make sure you're signed up to my virtual slice of cake. I guarantee you'll enjoy it. The first issue of the Pen to Print magazine, Write On! has been released. I'm so chuffed to have been involved with the project as a contributing editor and it's available to read online here. I am also in the midst of having new covers designed for my poetry books which is exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing what the designer comes up with. Marvellous May (May 2019) The Interspecies Poker Tournament is available to pre-order on Kindle right now! Click here to get your copy. Official release date in paperback and ebook is 24th May - so exciting! Now that I've finished writing, editing and formatting The Interspecies Poker Tournament, I do feel like I'm at a bit of a loose end. The third book in The Gaia Collection has been written, first draft only, but I'm not sure I want to leap into another editing project. My creative fingers are itching to write something new... watch this space! Eggtastic April (April 2019) The Interspecies Poker Tournament is with beta readers which is both exciting and terrifying as they point out things which are so obvious I can't believe I missed it in the first place! Oh, and they seem to be enjoying the read as well - yay! April is of course Camp NaNo month which gave me the perfect excuse to start a new project. It's a multi-book series so for the first time in my writing career, I'm dipping my toe into actual book planning. There could be spreadsheets! UPDATE: I won Camp NaNoWriMo! I worked on many, many projects and counted words and hours - huzzah! March Madness (March 2019) Spring is upon us, can you believe it? My list of projects keeps getting longer as I keep having ideas for future books which is no bad thing but I really need to finish The Interspecies Poker Tournament not least because I am looking forward to reading the final version! My first book surgery at Barking Library, a Pen to Print event, went really well. I talked about the importance of building an author brand, an author platform and touched briefly on the different types of marketing you can do. We will be having another one in April when I'll be talking about social media in more depth. I will also be adding a speakers section to my website so stay tuned for that! Feeling the Love (February 2019) Despite not being successful with my short story submission, Ye Olde Magick Shoppe, I've decided to post it on my website for you to read because I just love the characters of Ned and Jenni. I hope you enjoy reading it, just click here to get started! Speaking of Ned and Jenni, The Interspecies Poker Tournament, The Roshaven Case Files No. 27, has decided it needs to be a novel and not a novella which is disappointing for those waiting for the novella but super exciting for fans of Roshaven stories. Tales from the Seaside is now available on audiobook! We've had a few downloads already so I think listeners are enjoying the audio experience. Books & Cake in 2019 (January 2019) 1. The Gaia Solution, book three in The Gaia Collection, was started during NaNoWriMo 2018 and that early draft will be attacked with tea and cake until it's ready for beta readers. 2. I have yet to come up with a design for the cover of The Gaia Solution so that will probably take coffee and cake to achieve with the help of my fabulous cover designer, Ian Bristow. 3. The Interspecies Poker Tournament, The Roshaven Case Files No. 27 is a novella from the world of Ned Spinks and Jenni which just needs a new beginning and a new ending. With the help of tea and cake it too will be ready for beta readers soon. 4. Tales from the Seaside, my second collection of short stories and winner of best indie-book of 2018, will be coming out in audio. Perfect to listen to when drinking tea and eating cake. 5. A new, free, collection of flash fiction will soon be available, title to be imagined so you know the drill - tea and cake required! 6. There will be some additions to my Little Book of Verse poetry collection - themes still to be explored include winter, love, spring, autumn and Christmas so I shall choose what comes next with the help of tea and cake. 7. I have the opportunity to attend the Sci-Fi Weekender in Great Yarmouth, November 2019 so I need to decide if I'm going for it or not. I think I should. The cake told me to. 8. My interview feature on my blog, A Slice of Cake With... is always looking for new authors to feature so if you're interested, please fill in the online form. |
